National Conference – The Ogonis are a part of Nigeria too

The fact that the Ogoni’s have always addressed the issues of injustice meted out to them peacefully, without carrying arms or detonating bombs, right from the days of the late Human rights and environmental activist, Ken Saro-Wiwa to the present set of leaders, should have made the organizers of this event make sure that the Ogoni’s are ably represented.

When the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, announced in a live broadcast to Nigerians, that he was going to convene a Sovereign National Conference, I was among the vast majority of Nigerians who greeted it with enthusiasm. My reasons for supporting this planned national discuss weren’t farfetched, issues needed to be sorted out, we needed to get angry, talk about our grievances and most especially, reconcile our differences. The list of delegates earmarked for the National Conference has been released to the public, and after going through that list, saying I was disappointed would be an understatement—but I would rather understate than overstate, and in this case, overstating the facts which is tantamount to exaggeration, is quite unnecessary.

Missing Malaysia plane 'may have turned back' radar displays indicate the aircraft could have turned around before disappearing.

The Authorities in Malaysia has announced that they are now investigating the possibility the missing Malaysian Airlines plane had turned back before disappearing, and were widening the search area accordingly.
According to "Aljazeera report", the Malaysian aviation authorities said it was "fearing the worst" and that radar displays indicated the plane could have turned around.
This raises a lot of unanswered questions," he said. "If the pilots had the wherewithal to turn around why did they not communicate with any of the towers. Still the officials saying there wasn't a distress call."
No weather problems had been reported in the area before the plane dropped out of contact, and the pilots did not send a distress signal - something that has been highlighted by experts as unusual for a modern jetliner.
There was still no confirmed sighting of wreckage from the Boeing 777 in the seas between Malaysia and Vietnam where it vanished from screens early Saturday morning en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur.
The identities of four passengers on board the missing jetliner are being investigated over 'airline security fears' as planes and ships from across Asia resumed the hunt for the plane that disappeared with 239 people on board.
Investigators are also checking CCTV footage of two passengers who are believed to have boarded the plane using stolen passports.
